Chapter 5 focuses on the logistics service sharing problem in the case of an e-commerce platform using a hybrid model, and provides an in-depth analysis and discussion of the strategic and economic implications of the logistics service sharing model under competing market conditions. In the model building part, an e-commerce supply chain system consisting of an e-commerce platform, a third-party seller and many heterogeneous consumers is considered. Two e-commerce supply chain logistics service models are focused on: the no logistics service sharing model (N) and the logistics service sharing model (S)。

After investigating the optimal decision under the no-logistics service model and logistics service model respectively, the product retail prices and firm profits under the two e-commerce supply chain logistics service models were further compared. The corresponding conclusions are drawn: when the logistics service quality of the 3PL service provider and the potential market demand of the product are low, the shared logistics service will reduce the retail price of the product on the e-commerce platform; conversely, the shared logistics service will increase the retail price of the product on the e-commerce platform. When both the quality of logistics services of 3PL service providers and the potential market demand of products are low, shared logistics services will reduce the profits of e-commerce platforms; conversely, shared logistics services will increase the profits of e-commerce platforms。
